I'm Kristin Guidi, the designer behind 17 Mile Creative. I've been doing brand and web design for small businesses for ten years now, mostly around the Monterey Peninsula and mostly by referral.
Most of my work is brand identity, websites and online stores, along with the quieter half that's harder to put on an invoice: the copy decisions, the photography direction, the launch itself, and the years of upkeep that follow. I build in WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace and Wix.
Lately I've been getting a different kind of project. Someone builds an app with an AI tool, it runs, and it still looks like a prototype. That's usually where I come in — the design, the screens the tool never built, a checkout that works, and a landing page that can do the selling.
17 Mile Creative came out of our family's love of living here on the Monterey Peninsula, not far from 17 Mile Drive. It's still the reason I work the way I do, with clients down the road and clients I've never met in person.
When I'm not working I'm with my husband and two daughters, running the local trails, or practicing viola and piano.
Either way, I enjoy helping good work look and function like a real business. Tell me what you're building.

A short email now and then — what’s working on small business websites, what isn’t, and what I’ve learned building them. No schedule, no noise.
